How I collect, use and protect your information when you use this site or get in touch.

Who I am

This site, ashleyrowe.co.uk, is run by Ashley Rowe, a UK-based freelance web developer working remotely. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights below, email [email protected]. For the purposes of UK data-protection law I am the “data controller” for the information described here.

What I collect

  • Information you send me — when you complete the audit or contact form, or email me, I receive your name, email address and anything you choose to add (business name, phone number, website URL and your message).
  • Technical information — like most websites, my hosting keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
  • Analytics — if you accept analytics in the cookie banner, I use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service to understand which pages are useful. It records only anonymous, aggregate usage (which pages are visited, roughly where in the world, what device) — no cookies, no personal data, and no tracking across other websites. Choose “Essential only” and no analytics runs.

How I use it, and why

I use the information you send purely to reply to you, prepare your free audit, and — if we work together — to deliver and support that work. The lawful bases are your consent and my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running my business; where we have a contract, to perform that contract. I do not sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.

Who I share it with

I only share data with the service providers needed to run the site and respond to you — for example my website host and the form/email provider that delivers your enquiry. These act on my instructions under their own data-protection terms. I may also disclose information if required by law.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry emails and project records only as long as needed to respond and to meet legal or accounting obligations, then delete them. Server logs are rotated automatically by my host.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask me to access, correct, delete or restrict the data I hold about you, object to certain processing, or receive a copy of it. Email [email protected] and I’ll respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies needed to function, plus any analytics cookies described in the Cookie Policy.

Changes

I may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version.
